Only for real Villa fans
This season had a very disappointing start for the Villains after they were eliminated in the Europa League qualifying stages but that once again proved to be a blessing in disguise. It helped Martin O’Neill’s side fully focus on domestic competitions and no wonder the team are looking to make this one of the most successful seasons in club’s recent history.
After the unsuccessful top 4 challenge last term, not too many people expected Villa to be in the race for the Champions League place this season, especially with the emergence of City and Tottenham but the Villains are still just three points shy of the fourth place, but with the easiest fixture list of all the contenders. While all Aston Villa (Aston Villa betting) fans are obviously delighted with the progress the team have made under Martin O’Neill, we are still waiting for the Villains to mount a serious top 4 challenge or win a major trophy. The long and anxious wait could be over by the end of the season as we are in the Carling Cup final, while still in the race for the Champions League place but there are certain areas that need improvement. Even though this season is far from being concluded, I feel the obligation to give my view on team’s recent performances and the way this club are going in new betting blog about our favourite club. The fans are still buzzing with the excitement of the prospect of watching Aston Villa at Wembley in the Carling Cup final, while we are still in the top 4 race, which is a certainly a good thing.
